Mastering Mascara........ Well there is one thing I love and its Mascara. I often get asked what is the best mascara what do you use? etc? Well first of all I can tell you there are tons of amazing mascaras and I can tell you all of them ranging in prices. But the main thing here is to give you some basic tips on applying mascara.. First things first its all about the brush on the mascara wand. And its all about the effect you would like to achieve? Do you want length or volume or both? Well that be said sometimes you may have to use two different mascaras.. Yes two! One for volume and one for thickening... Waterproof or not water proof.. I just suggest if you use waterproof to be careful and use a great eyemake remover that is gentle to your lashes.. But just to give you a few pointers on the application.. Here are few tips.. 1. Make sure you curl your lashes- 2-3 pumps with your eyelash curler is fine... I sometimes hit some heat with a blowdryer to give it a bit of heat.. (But be very very very careful and make sure its not too hot) Okay so maybe stick to 2-3 pumps without heat for the first few times... lol 2. Whatever mascara you choose make sure to wipe off a bit of the mascara on a clean tissue.. This will help avoid any clumps.... Try not to pump air into the mascara.. 3. Okay wiggle wiggle your brush from base to ends this will help you get the proper amount on your lashes.. I sometimes use my lash comb when mascara is wet to help with any clumps... Apply a few coats but try not to add more coats after its dry this will cause clumps.. But dont fear if you clump... I often keep disposable wands near at hand and use them to comb out and separate each lash.. You also use a new small toothbrush and keep it just for brushing the lashes.. Make sure to clean it.. 4. Bottom lashes - this can get tricky bottom lashes or no bottom lashes.. Well I normally do mine and my clients, but I use a small brush (make up angle brush) and I actually grab some mascara from the wand.. I find it difficult to get my bottom lashes with the bigger wand on the some mascara wands.. But It really depends on the look you want... Okay good luck and I hope you love your lashes! .............. Which girl are you? I am no sure I used to be a Sephora girl but Mac is so amazing.. Im getting some new products to blog about soon? Stay tuned
Well since I have been doing make up for over 15+ years. I always get asked the same questions? what should I have in my make up kit? Well there is no real answer? Well atleast I must admit I have no clear answers. All though I have tried many brands and the main issue is always cash.. How much are you willing to spend? Well for a beginner its gonna be hard to choose? I would for a suggestion tell you about pallettes.. I love love love Coastal Scents.. By far the best and most amazing products $$ an get you. Especially for beginners or the everyday women. Now once you get more experienced you can move on to more pro pallettes.... check out the amazing site- I would start with a concealer pallette and a few shadow pallettes matte and shimmer also lip pallette and the correcting shadow pallette
http://www.coastalscents.com/ Well I just started using Lip Ink and I must admit its amazing. Its kinda hard to get used to at first, With the burning on your lips but really no different then a lip plumber. I must admit I will be buying more soon... http://www.lipink.com/
I often asked to recommend my favorite make up. Well that is hard to say since I love so many different brands. I do have to say I am falling in love with airbrush. Airbrush make up is far better for your skin. Its water based and it will last all day. Also amazing if you are acne prone. Since you will not be using brushes daily you can avoid spreading any types of bacteria or dirt debris. I would have to say that my experience with the airbrush has been amazing. I Love airbrush make up and I use it almost everyday. I love to use airbrush for my bridal make up as well. It give such a natural soft look to brides, yet it covers everything. Also one more tip , its great for mature skin. Its helps hide those fine lines and really looks glowing on mature skin.. I use stream cosmetics. Its simply amazing..
I am so excited that stream cosmetics has two lines of make up.
Airbrush make up and now traditional make up take a look at my website www.streamcosmetics.com/carmenc Well throughout my time as a make up artist. I worked with many lines. I have been lucky enough to have had my hands on many different lines and really be educated about how they work and the ingredients. People have asked me which primer I prefer? Well I can tell you I have used and which ones I prefer..
I always had a hard time finding the right one to work. And I had my heart set on urban decay primer forever, and I also felt that two faced eye primer was it. Well atleast a real close tie. The plus with UD it is stays and works great no crease, but I just find that the urban decay primer tends to be hard to get out towards the end. I feel like there is so much products left in the purple tube. Well the two faced eye primer is amazing great package, Love the way it works no creasing, but it tends to be oiler for some reason. I noticed its not great when my client has a slightly oily eyelid. well then this leads me to the whole reason I am blogging... I love motives Eye base. Can I say "WoW"! Its no crease and it last all day and its easier with a jar package. Just scoop tiny amount out and thats it. A little goes a long way.......... Yippie! I dont have to spend $28.00 on primer whoo hoo! I am not bashing any other primers just sending out my thoughts on it and for those on a budget. This is amazing and works just like or better then what I am used to and for $14.00 bucks. I can stock up... Love it! Give it a try and send me some feedback...
