I am writing this blog to help you with your decision to book your Professional Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Here a few tips! Tip #1 Try to get one person to do hair and your makeup! This will make one cohesive look and require lot less stress with having two strangers in your face on your special day... Tip #2 Make sure you do a trial run ( now out of town brides ) I understand that is may not be possible.. But do your homework- Check out the Makeup Artist Website and referrals... If you are not able to do a trial run go to local beauty counter and ask them to suggest colors for you and do try somethings on.. So you can be certain what you like and don't like... If your budget permits go to your salon and ask them to do an up-do and see what you like with your hair choices.. Take Pictures and have your artist recreate your look for your special day... Tip #2- Contracts and Deposit are important-Make sure your Makeup Artist has a timeline, So make sure the artist stays on track with time... Ask them to send you a sample timeline so you can plan your day Tip # 3 Make sure your makeup artist or hairstylist sanitizes all of there products in front of you... Take a look at there kits and see what products they use! There should be a mix of high end products... These products should be neat and in order not a mess! I use a mix of Mac, Urban Decay, Stila, Cargo, Mehron, Temptu, and Dinair and I have my own private label name Cosmetics! I offer my bride a touch up kit! Which reminds me dont forget your touch up kit for later.. I suggest 1 lipstick and 1 mirror with compact powder.... This will depend on your choice of airbrush or traditional.. Booking Bridal Trial Run Bridal Trial Run- what you should expect from your hairstylist or makeup artists?
You should receive a bridal questionaire and prep list.. Here is a sample I send my brides.. Enjoy REMEMBER-BRIDE Please remember to wear a white shirt similar to neckline of wedding dress. This is very important to see the makeup with your complexion and white or ivory color. Please Clean Face no Makeup- When choosing a Formal Updo or Curly style- Please Clean Dry Hair- It has to be 100% dry -wash night before - or it depends on your hair texture... Thin finer hair is fine to be washed in morning as long as it 100% dry. For Thicker or Curly hair clients hair must be blown out and ready for styling on trial run and on wedding day. Unless formal updo is requested with natural curls, then clean dry hair please. Out of Town brides we have many options for your destinations weddings.. Please email us for more info.. Questionnaire Bridal What is your skin type? Dry, Oily, Combo or Sensitive? What type of hair texture are you?- Straight, Curly ,Wavy Do you have any chemicals in your hair? Keratin, Straighter, Relaxer? Are you sensitive to any products or allergic? Choose your Makeup look? Do you prefer natural, dramatic, smokey, etc? Dramatic looks or Softer Looks? Formal Hairstyle or Basic Hair Style? Updo or Curls only -straight or blowdry only What are your wedding colors/theme etc! Do you have Tierra or Wedding veil? Do you want a bridal touch up kit? Lipstick and powder with mini hairspray ? My rates are $35.00+ for touch up kit- one lipgloss or lipstick with powder and mini hairspray Reminder Or please remember to have your own touch up kit for the day of wedding- We suggest powder, lipgloss and mini hairspray Add Hair Extensions- We have many style for purchase if desired. We can discuss via Trial Run Applying your own hair extensions I charge $25.00 extra to apply your own extensions for your hairstyle. What is all the fuss? And BB Creams were featured on DR OZ which means, well My Mom was calling me asking me which one to buy? lol Which I thought was pretty cute. Well I actually look around and tried to see which one would be the best? And I did not get a chance to try anyone in particular , all though there are many different brands. I actually tried a BB CREAM via a friend of mine who actually showed it to me and had me try it.. Well I was very skeptical and we were in a rush and I forgot to bring my touch up kit with me.. My review- .My friend had light to med and it went on amazing and it covered all of my freckles and imperfections. I was very surprised it actually left my skin with a dewy finish. It lasted all day and it felt very light.. . Wow I was surprised, not only did it cover my skin but it adjusted to my tone. The Maybelline BB Cream feels very much like a tinted moisturizer on my skin and I recommend it as tinted moisturizer if you have dry to normal skin.. If you're already use a tinted moisturizer and are not looking looking for full coverage and you don't have oily skin. All though I would wear this everyday and I would not say its a full coverage, like it says it sheer but it seems like it a build-able which I love. Again not recommended for oily skin.. I did go out and buy it and all I can say is I love it.. I add a little powder to add more coverage... I love love love! It retails for under $8.00 but I suggest you try a sample Sephora sells different BB CREAMS From different brands go try one a one and ask for a sample that suits your skin type.. GOOD LUCK! Well its your big day and your undecided on what to do? There are so many options when it comes to your bridal make up. Here are a few choices.. 1. Hire a Make up Artist 2. Do it yourself 3. Have your friend or family member apply your make up. All of these choice really do depend on your budget.. I of course would recommend you hire someone for your special day. But sometimes your budget may not call for this option. If you do decided to do your own make up.. Here are some D.I.Y Bridal Make up tips. Make sure you do start with prepping the skin. Cleanse Tone moisturizer- now this depends on your skin type.. Primer is very important this will help make your make up last longer and hold up for the whole day.. Eye Make up- I would suggest you do your eyes first just in case you have some fall outs or drop some of your eyeshadow.. Choose a color that will suit you.. Decide if you are a warm tone or cooler tone? Is this a day or night wedding? Some basic rules- Go darker on eyes go lighter on the lip.. Lighter eye darker lip? Careful on the shimmer and go light with the white shimmer under your brow bone.. Choose eyeliners that will not overshadow your whole look.. Brown and Grey charcoal or Plum.. Choose a Waterproof Mascara and put on a few coats.. Do your bottom lashes first and then do your top last.. Foundation is very important.. Not sure your color stop in to a local retail beauty store.. Ulta, Sephora, Mac and get your foundation color matched.. Most places will even give you a small sample to try at home first.. Apply with a sponge or brush.. Apply blush or bronzer.. Lips should be beautiful use a liner close to your natural lip color or close to your lipstick.. Apply Lipstick then add some gloss.. Mac make some of the best pigments for lipstick and lipgloss.. Set your foundation with a powder and dont forget the setting spray.... Dont forget your touch up make up kit- lipgloss or powder and some matting sheets... Well these are some basic tips...
